This week I’ve changed over my wardrobe. Banishing all summer dresses to storage and carefully hanging, or folding which is I believe to be the correct etiquette, my knitwear. I’ve sold off a few things to make way for some new, and have been slowly stashing things away when the temperature says ‘35 and sunny’ but my heart says ‘cashmere’.

I’ve been screenshotting away in preparation for my favourite season too. You’ll see some of my favourites above. Unsure where I’m going in that full suit, trench & necktie combo, given I work from home, but I’m here for the VIBE. This is a process that works for me: but be kind to yourself, I like to screenshot people with similar body types, height, style, and living in a similar climate to myself. No point snapping away photos of a blonde, leggy billionaire who's perennially yachting, when I’m brunette, short and perennially on a budget and/or at the playground.

Most of the time I save looks where I already own similar pieces from which I can easily recreate it. Other times it’s to remind me of gaps in my wardrobe. Currently, I feel they are:

  • A nice, mid to dark denim, rigid shirt. Maybe the mens department is where I go for this?

  • Crisp white shirt or this one if I’m feeling flush

  • A black leather belt with gold hardware. This is more affordable, but this is perfect

  • Black, wide leg (ideally wool) pants. Literally impossible to shop for online, I’ll need to brave the shops for these. Or wait for these to come back in stock

  • A non-denim or black pant, I like these

  • Two pairs of sandals; one plain but a little strappy (I would buy every pair), the other with a colour pop (maybe red?)

  • Vintage suede blazer. I’m holding out for a holiday I’m manifesting to Japan, but if your passport is expired, here’s some good reccs

  • Beige trench, ideally also vintage

Which leaves me with what I do have, and that’s an opportunity to start WORKSHOPPING. My suggestion; once you’ve cleared everything out (doesn’t have to be on the same day, be sure to do this when you’re in a good mood, or at least the mood) have a HUGE try on sesh. For me, this helps eradicate the awful dread of having nothing to wear in the mornings. If you’re needing some inspiration, start with your ‘saved’ or screenshots folder, it’s nice to have something to get the juices flowing.

Then, pile everything in categories (jeans, jackets, t-shirts), and make sure it’s all roughly steamed or ironed - this is often the difference between and an outfit looking like sh!t, and it not looking like sh!t! Set aside a couple of hours, and make sure to take a snap of everything! The outfits you like, you can then save in Indyx as a reminder for next time you have outfit decision paralysis.

Note: a couple of the links below are affiliate links, but these are all to items I’ve purchased myself, and swear by!

I like what I like okay ;)

Outfit #1: LESET t-shirt, COS Cardigan (sold out, similar here), ZARA jacket, SLVRLAKE jeans, Proenza Schouler Boots

This is a good one for when it gets a bit chillier. Ever since I got these jeans hemmed they go perfectly with every shoe, boots included. I need to get a tonne of things tailored at the moment, it’s such a good feeling when it’s done… but the procrastination is real.
